The haute couture of framing

Established in 1880, Atelier Van Thienen has become the only Belgian framing house to offer more than 700 exclusive models, produced according to ancestral processes.

After 3 generations in the family of François Van Thienen, the Atelier passed into the capable hands of Vincent Vercheval in 1986. A lover of arts, he bought the company with the constant aim to learn, to maintain tradition and to strive for manufacturing excellence.

The House of Van Thienen is an internationally renowned benchmark. It has had the good fortune to work with many artists, including René Magritte, Paul Delvaux, James Ensor, Frans Gailliard, Jean-Jacques Gailliard, Frans Courtens, Gaston Bertrand, Jo Delahaut, Léon Spilliaert, Antoine Mortier, Fernand Toussaint, Émile Claus and Alfred Bastien: they are all part of its history, and some of its frames are dedicated to them.

The greatest collectors entrust their works to the Atelier, with the certainty that they will be showcased to their best advantage.

Since 2021, Vincent Vercheval and his wife, Anne-Catherine Algoedt, have been joined by Marie-Caroline d’Olne, their daughter-in-law and daughter, whose skills and youth have given the company a new dynamic, developing new models and projects.
